A Sacred Place for the tribute and memory of all the victims of Forced Disappearance in Guatemala.
Landscapes of Memory, in Comalapa, Chimaltenango, is a Memorial, a Sacred Place that seeks to redefine the Historical Site used for terror, in a Space of Memory intended to honor all the victims of Forced Disappearance in the country, promoting in it the construction of collective memories, intergenerational dialogue, human rights, the vindication of lives that were cut short.
Paisajes de la Memoria is the cradle of cultural and collective activities aimed at the symbolic reparation of the victims, their families and the society that was fractured by the serious violations of human rights that occurred during the Internal Armed Conflict in Guatemala.
"In those two years (2003 - 2005) we found 220 bodies of husbands, wives, men, women. We originally thought THAT they were all from Comalapa. We began the analysis and realized that it was not that easy, that what really happened in Comalapa was that they were hiding people they brought from other places"
